CLINICIAN
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, exempt Clinician for our organization. The Clinician will work directly with residents to address the mental health needs of our population with a focus on substance abuse treatment. Prior work in rehabilitation and/or substance abuse treatment centers desired. The position may require some weekend and/or evening hours as needed. We are looking for an energetic and outgoing individual to be a part of our team. Job duties include the following:
Responsibilities:
- Assist program manager, case managers, and service coordinators to address the clinical issues which lie beyond the scope of practice of peer counselors.
- Assist in screening new clients in the assessment center.
- Provide case consultation with program staff and supplemental treatment plans.
- Act as a liaison to other resources, making referrals where appropriate and coordinating with other referral sources
- Provide crisis intervention and individual psychotherapy
- Facilitate specialized groups such as family reunification groups, psychotherapy groups, trauma recovery groups, self-esteem groups, and others.
- Document clinical notes in resident charts for compliance with required procedures
- Prepare for inspections and liaison with government agencies during monitoring visits
- Provide supervision to certificate level interns and possibly masters or doctorate level interns
Job Requirements
- Degrees/certifications: Masters level training (or beyond) in social work, psychology/counseling, family therapy.
- License required (LCSM, MFT or PhD)
- Skill in working with a diverse population, especially individuals with co-occurring disorders
- Experience with mental health services
- Must be knowledgeable with substance abuse issues, therapeutic interventions, and treatment planning
- Must have a firm understanding of the 12 steps of Alcoholic Anonymous or other fellowships
- Experience and knowledge in working with trauma and PTSD
