Wild Oats Santa Monica, 1425 Montana Avenue, has announced that it will donate 5% of its pre-tax sales on Monday, June 21 to New Directions. The Wild Oats 5% Days were established to give something back to the local community by donating proceeds to nonprofit organizations that have small budgets and big hearts! Please join us on June 21st and make your grocery shopping count!
		On Sunday, June 6, New Directions was featured on Midday Sunday, Fox11 News' morning program. Executive director Toni Reinis, case manager William Koerner and program coordinator Willie Bailey were interviewed about the New Directions' program and what it means to be a veteran in today's society. Both Koerner and Bailey are veterans and graduates of of New Directions. Produced and hosted by World War II veteran Tony Valdez, the program examines local and national issues along with current headline news and newsmakers. On the air since 1988, Valdez is the recipient of numerous Emmy, Golden Mike and Los Angeles Press Club awards.

	Jazz Barbeque Friday Series at Veterans Village Diner! featured June 25th... Dwight Trible and The Oasis of Peace	Friday, June 25, 2004, 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Join us at the New Directions' Veterans Village Diner for a culinary celebration of summertime and jazz with home style barbeque, coleslaw & potato salad, cornbread, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie, grilled vegetables and organic salads. Dinners priced between $5.50 and $6.50, with proceeds benefiting New Directions. Sponsored in part by Westwood Village Farmer's Market, the Jazz Barbeque Friday Series will feature great jazz entertainment and homestyle barbeque the last Friday of every month at Veterans Village Diner, located on the VA Campus, 11303 Wilshire Boulevard, Building #306.
