Bowls a Strike in SuperBowl-athon 8
On
January 30, sixty-seven teams competed for points and pledges
at the 8th annual SuperBowl-athon fundraiser for the Westside
Shelter and Hunger Coalition. New Directions, a member of
the association, fielded five teams and won second place for
Highest Team Pledges.
The
coalition, the oldest of its kind in LA County, is an association
of over 30 social service agencies and faith-based organizations
whose mission is to provide services for homeless and hungry
people on the Westside. Proceeds from the SuperBowl-athon
provide emergency supplies for the Cold Wet Weather Shelters.
