New Directions, Inc. has been named recipient of the the 2004 Sustainable Quality Award by the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the award is to recognize voluntary activities by companies and organizations in the Santa Monica area that contribute to a strong and viable economy.

NDI was honored for making "extraordinary contributions" to the community and demonstrating exceptional commitment and innovation above and beyond their primary mission. Achievements are evaluated in economic development, social responsibility and stewardship of the environment.

Arianna Huffington, syndicated columnist and author of "Fanatics and Fools: The Game Plan for Winning Back America" will join Jill Stewart, award-winning journalist and syndicated columnist of "Capitol Punishment"  to debate Six Months of Arnold: Accessing the Governator. The fundraiser, $45 per person, includes an executive continental breakfast catered by New Directions Catering. Additionally, Miramax Books has generously donated twenty copies of Huffington's new book which will be signed by the author and raffled off.
