Women’s House Residential Manager
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part-time non-exempt Women’s House Residential Manager. This person will work directly with residents to maintain both houses and to ensure program standards are being met. The manager will demonstrate qualities and behaviors that are key to successful recovery from substance abuse and homelessness. All duties will be performed in a courteous respectful manner, allowing residents and staff to maintain a healthy sense of self-worth while maintaining a safe and sober environment. Duties will include the following:
Responsibilities
- Secure (locking and unlocking doors) both facilities as needed.
- Log in after-hour residents, monitor resident activity in both facilities, respond to residents needs, respond to emergency procedures and assist residents with emergency situations.
- Conduct regular bed checks; supervise evening chores and any directives that have been given, document resident activity in staff log.
- Monitor medication calls and make sure residents log and take all medications.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Communicate with program supervisor, co-workers and residents regarding policies, procedures and special circumstances.
- When assigned, facilitate recovery and substance abuse treatment groups and participate in all weekly Thursday family groups.
- Work holidays as needed.
- Assist with transportation as needed.
- Assist with other tasks and duties as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to read and write basic English
- Ability to attend monthly staff trainings (during the day) and monthly all-staff meetings and periodic team retreats throughout the year.
- Knowledge of substance issues, mental health issues, trauma counseling, community resources, particularly as they relate to Social Model Recovery and Therapeutic Communities.
- Knowledge of 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous or other recovery programs
- Educational background may be diverse, however, a Bachelor’s Degree and/or drug and alcohol certification is preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable in substance abuse issues, therapeutic interventions, and treatment planning
- Must have general office skills and computer literacy
