New Directions works with a reputable car donation program that will arrange to conveniently and quickly pick-up your vehicle, at no cost to you. They handle all the paperwork and will provide you with a tax-deductible acknowledgement receipt when they pick-up your donation.

What can I donate?

We accept most cars, trucks, trailers, boats, and RV's.

Why should I donate my car?

It is much easier to donate your automobile than to sell it yourself. You do not have to worry about repairs, finding a buyer, or wade through the paperwork. In addition, your donation will directly support New Directions' mission to transform the lives of veterans in need.

Is my donation tax deductible?

New Directions is recognized by the IRS as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Therefore, your donation is tax-deductible, to the full extent of the law. Because each individual's tax situation is different, we recommend that you check with your tax professional to determine the amount of tax benefit you may receive from your donation.

What do I need to provide?
Aside from the car, we will need the title (pink slip) and registration. If you do not have them, call us anyway. We may be able to make other arrangements.

“My car hasn't run in years.” Can I still donate it?

Yes, most vehicles are accepted, running or not (exceptions include some older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing). To find out if we can accept your vehicle, please call us at (310) 914-4045, ext. 135.

Can you pick up vehicles in all 50 states?

Yes, it is possible to pick up most vehicles in the continental U.S. and Hawaii .

How will the car be picked up?

We will arrange to have your vehicle towed at a time that is convenient for you. A representative from our car program will contact you to schedule an appointment within three or four business days after you contact us. If you need your car picked up sooner, please let us know.
