The annual cultural arts event benefits the New Directions Women’s Program, which enables female veterans to reclaim their lives and return to their families and society.
This year's Jazz Barbeque will feature poetry readings and live music, including performances by local favorites Slavin David & Loose Gravel, The Dwight Trible Ensemble and the Eric Reed Quartet.
Barbeque lunches and a variety of snacks and beverages will be on sale throughout the day, and there will be special activities for children.
Residents of New Directions’ Women’s Program leave the facility with a job, housing, a savings account, renewed self confidence and the continuing support of mentors and peers.
For reservations or information, call LaShanda Maze 310-914-4045, ext. 161, or visit www.ndvets.org.
